HHS Director
The Health & Human Services Director oversees 638 Tribal Health and Human Services Programs of Contract Health Services, substance abuse, and Mental Health Programs, ICWA Family Services, Social Services, and Community Health Representatives. The position involves the supervision of work activity on the Las Vegas and Moapa reservations and services received by program Native Americans in Clark County.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
Proposing and writing for Federal Grant programs
Supervising, Directing, and Managing a Health & Human Services Clinic
Providing Leadership and Inspiration to staff members
Have strong office management, communication, and organizational skills
Possess good business judgment and the ability to see all potential opportunities
Strong cultural, ethnicity, and diversity awareness
Our beautiful modern facility is located downtown Las Vegas, 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and 15 minutes from McCarran International Airport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees implementation on intake and eligibility activities for CHS patients at tribal locations.
- Researches and networks with other organizations for providing alternative health resources for Native Americans.
- Oversees the CHS payment authorization system for health care services.
- Acts as a liaison between medical providers and the program regarding contracts and billing.
- Responsible for community health education/prevention sessions.
- Manages program record keeping system, budgeting, and reporting to Tribal Chairpersons
- Budgets for various grants and departments.
- Ensures program functions fulfill contractual agreements at all times.
- Acts as a liaison between Trial Government, Indian Health Services, and Bureau of Indian Affairs.
- Human Resources duties include staffing, interviewing, performance evaluations, documentation, employee counseling, and making hiring decisions.
Key Skills:
Computer ability and familiarity with windows, excel, and outlook
Administration and Office Management
Human Resources and Training
Medical facility experience including counseling
Strong communications skills at all levels both verbal and in writing
Cultural awareness/experience in working with Native American population
Education:
Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited College or University in a related major/field.
